Courses
Introductory Courses
Courses last five to six hours. Typically, a course is held in single day (turbo course). Rarely, a course can take two or three sessions (accelerated course). All courses are open to anyone with an interest in Western Martial Arts (WMA) / Historical European Martial Arts (HEMA) / Martial Arts. Each course will cover the basic principles of a specific European weapon skills and have a hands-on component. Students will participate in drills and exercises designed to teach proper technique built upon the carefully laid out principles.
No experience or equipment is necessary, but athletic clothing and footwear is recommended.
Attending an introductory course is mandatory for all new students. Once the course has been successfully completed, attendance to members classes is permitted.
On completion participants will be entitled to a $20 discount off a three month Sword Academy membership if joining within two weeks from the course completion.
